ABOUT GEN X WITH
A VISION
The Gen X with a Vision Art Expos purpose is to raise awareness
for the BRCA1 gene that Annettes sister Michelle had. Michelle
passed away from this deadly disease at the age of 32, leaving
behind a husband and two young children. Since Michelles diagnosis
Annettes family has gone through genetic testing at the Princess
Margaret Hospital Familial Breast & Ovarian cancer Clinic.
This has been an emotional rollercoaster for the family. Some
young women in the family that have been shown to have this dealy
gene have had to make extremely difficult life decisions.
The Gen X with a Vision show donates a percentage of all sales
of the artwork sold, to someone affected by breast cancer to help
make the life of the individual battling breast cancers life a
little bit brighter and to give them hope.
Annettes sister mentioned many times when she was sick that the
doctor could not write her a prescription for a nanny or a house
keeper. Michelle ended up getting much support from many people
and it made things a little easier on the family in such a difficult
time but it also made them think about the people who are not
so fortunate. These are the people Gen X with a Vision would like
to help.
The following articles were in the Toronto Star one is an article
